4. (Photo 4) 20 Nations Color Pictures of FOLK DOLLS.
A unique and well researched combination booklet and color plates as reference guides for doll costumers and collectors as well as historians, instructors, theater costumers and fashion designers. The photos show fronts and backs of dolls representing authentic costumes from various international locales.
This guide was published in 1939 by Morgan-Dillon & Co. Author: Jane Winter Lighter. Of the 20 nations, only 17 color plates are present. Missing from the photos: Ireland, Portugal and Poland. The original plates appear to have been 10" x 10". Several have been trimmed no doubt to remove a few worn edges. The brown envelope is shown (photo 10.) It has edgewear but is generally in good shape for its age. The booklet (photo 12) is in very good condition. Binding is tight. It has no bends or tears. Paper pages are age related darkened. Booklet is very informative and details each costume. Invaluable material.
5. (Photo 7) Magazine article from Doll Costuming, April 2001. "Sac du Voyage" by K.L. Epperly. Four pages on making a traveling satchel for a French Fashion doll. Suggested for the Huret doll of the 1860s. Excellent condition.
