Located on the eastern tip of
Virginia

was first settled around 1640 and
officially
erected in 1669
from
Lancaster
County
.
The
village
of
Saluda
is the county seat.
Once a major center for wooden boat building, the
village
of
Deltaville
remains a commercial and recreational center.
The town of
Urbanna
remains the county’s largest commercial area.
A few years after 1666, the parish was divided into two parts:
Christ
Church
,
Lancaster
and
Christ
Church
, Middlesex.
The parish register of the latter, containing the baptisms, marriages, and burials of thousands of communicants during
the years 1653-1812, is reprinted in this book.
Includes several thousand family names. Also includes references to some families from
Gloucester
and Stratford Major
Parishes.
