General Lucius Barnes Barbour was the ‘Connecticut Examiner of Public Records from 1911 to 1934 and in that capacity directed a project in which the vital records kept by towns up to about 1850 were copied and abstracted. He presented the completed transcriptions of town vital records to the Connecticut State Library where the information was tyuped onto printed forms. Altogether, the entire Barbour collection covers 137 towns and comprises 14,333 typed pages. This particular volume covers the towns or Stafford and Tolland. A wonderful genealogical source!
