The Sweet Sue Doll was made by the American Character Doll Company starting in 1948 through 1964. The doll came dresses in various outfits, but they could not be purchased seperately. So, companies make doll clothing patterns for Sweet Sue so that mothers and their daughters could make additional outfits for these darling dolls. Sweet Sue was the first doll to be made as a walker doll and was made from 1952-54. The Sweet Sue Sophisticate was only made in 1957 and came in sizes 14", 20". The Sweet Sue Doll came in sizes 15", 18", 20", 22", 25" and 31" and I have large assortment of patterns available for these dolls!
This pattern was originally created April 26, 1956. The copyright for this pattern has expired and it entered the public domain Jan 1, 1985.
